Welcome you to the home page for the department of Chemical Engineering at Faculty of Engineering, University of Khartoum. I am extremely proud of our staff and students who represents the next generation of critical scholars, pioneers, engineers, and are able to have a direct impact on the well-being of the SUDAN.

   The department strives for excellence in research, high quality education and out-standing professional services. Our academic programme is meticulously designed to equip students with fundamental understanding on the subjects of Chemical Engineering. We keep good balance between theoretical and laboratory based practical courses. Apart from this, the department is also engaged in various R&D such as renewable energy, nanotechnology and environmental sustainability.

Objectives

Mission

The department will be recognized as one of the leading comprehensive Chemical and Materials Engineering programs in the Middle East.

Vision

v  The department provides industry and government agencies with engineers able to deal with high technology and meet the job market needs.

Degrees Awarded

Department of Chemical Engineering awarded degrees of:

v  B.Sc. certificated in Chemical Engineering with study of 5 years, 2 semesters each year (10 semesters).

v  Diploma/M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering;

v  Degrees by research are awarded to candidates of M.Sc. and/or Ph.D.

Research

The department is engaged in number of research projects of industrial and theoretical importance under its following research areas:

v  The Chemical Department offer full internal scholarship to the Ph.D. students.
