About

   The department was established in 1976 by Mr. M. Elbagir Khalifa in cooperation with the Glasgow and Newcastle Universities. The staff members consist of six associate professors, four assistant professors, four lecturers, and four teaching assistants.

   The department is well-equipped with instruments used in the geodetic survey such as RTK-GPS units, Total Stations, Levels, Theodolites, Eco-Sounders, and a photogrammetry workstation. In addition, there is a computer lab where computer-based studies could be done such as Geographical Information Science and Remote Sensing.
